Stamp Club - Sept 13

Here's what we made at Stamp Club on Friday.  Send me a quick note or comment if you want the details.

Gettin' My Mojo On

Once again, it has been WAY too long since I've stamped.  Lots of extra motivation this week though since I had to plan Stamp Club for last night.  I was excited to find this sketch at Mojo Monday :

A new pack of Birthday Basics designer paper, a few little stamps, ...and voila:

Thank You Pals Paper Arts

I woke up this morning to a wonderful surprise.  My super simple card (that I wasn't even sure would be uploaded to the PPA challenge in time) was a PPA Pick this week!

Thank you to Susan for picking my card and thank to all the other players for the ideas and inspiration.  I'm truly motivated to find more time for sneaky stampin'!

If you're looking for some inspiration, hop on over to Pals Paper Arts on Thursday to see their next sketch challenge.

PPA164

This sure was a quickie today!  The countdown is on and I have to get this uploaded in 6 mins! Pals Paper Arts sketch looks like this:

And once again, here's my take on it:

Can't see the paper piercing too well in the pic, but I thought it was just enough to balance out the flower.  Still trying to use up some old dp and brads from the last catalog.  Now, hope I submit it in time!

Let it pass me by. Here's the sketch and my take on it:

Hope you like it!

A Surprising Color Combo

I'm not one for orange.  But again, in an attempt to use up my Summer Smooches dp, I had several pieces of Tangerine Tango.  I hopped over to My Create, Ink. Colorlab to get some ideas of color combos and was surprised to see how much I liked Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi.  Here's what I created with this color combo:

Can you see the little "brads" in the top right corners? These are the new self-adhesive Candy Dots that come in each of the SU! Color Collections.  Here's one card up close:

Another easy addition to any card - just peel and stick!  I added a vase to these flowers by cutting the oval punch to just the right size.  But my favorite of this bunch is this one:

I love the amount of Pacific Point on this one, as well as the cute little ribbon tying the stems together.  This skinny satin ribbon was part of SU!'s Sale-A-Bration promotion earlier this year.  I just love it and hope it makes it's way into an upcoming catalog!

More Yellow and Blue

I don't know why I have such a hard time mass producing one card.  I could have easily done that for the washi tape card I made yesterday, but instead felt the need to mix it up a bit.  Not much, as you'll see.  One of my problems is that when I find something I really like (in this case the washi tape), I don't want to use it all at once.  I know, it's crazy!

I started with the same dp glued to the Whisper White card base but this time added 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Daffodil Delight (color no longer available in current catalog).  I also decided to add a sentiment to these.

Not bad.  But the washi tape card is still my favorite!

Dynamic Mojo! - Mojo302, DD#61

Trying to get my mojo back has been a little tricky but with the help of some blog hopping, I think I may have found it!

The sketch over at Mojo Monday provided a great starting point and then the color combo offered by the Dynamic Duos was sure to get me moving.

I've been most excited about my new Flower Shop Bundle and this sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to use it.  Here's the card I came up with:

Thank goodness the team at Dynamic Duos allows the use of neutrals!  I was having a very hard time sticking to just the Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand...I needed the Early Espresso and Very Vanilla to make it POP!

Woodgrain & In Colors

Never thought of this stamp much before but I had seen so many cards using the Woodgrain stamp as the background, I just had to get it!  And then there are the new In Colors '13-'15....possibly my favorite In Color Collection ever!!!

I used Coastal Cabana for the card base, the sentiment, and the Woodgrain.  I stamped the Memorable Moments border in Strawberry Slush and after popping the border out with the Labels Collection framelits, I added a Baked Brown Sugar Dotted Scallop Ribbon to the background and a few Beautiful Wings embosslits.  Hope you like it!

Something Old, Something New

I was excited to try the new Designer Washi Tape! I'm always looking for EASY embellishments and that's exactly what you get from the Gingham Garden Washi Tape.

I don't know about you, but every time a new catalog comes out, I get all sorts of new designer papers and forget about all the old ones that are piling up.  SU! knows exactly what they are doing when they create their promotions...I mean, how can you pass this up?

So, with new papers on the way, I decided to use up some of that old paper.  The Summer Smooches dp from last year's catalog was a perfect match for the Daffodil Delight washi tape.

The cake is from the Embellished Events stamp set. I stamped it in Island Indigo and created my card but there was something missing.  I stamped it again but this time in Daffodil Delight on scrap paper.  I cut two cake layers, glued them onto the indigo image, and there I had it- the "something" that was missing.

Stampin' Spritzer

Oh my.  Where to start?  It's been so long since my last post, and honestly it's been so long since I've stamped!  My three kids are 3, 8, & 11 and lately it seems like someone needs something all the time.  Unfortunately this leaves little time for stamping.  However, now that I'm on 'summer vacation, I don't mind staying up past everyone's bedtime to get some sneaky stampin' done :)

I treated myself to several new items from the new 2013-2014 Idea Book & Catalog and just couldn't wait to start playing!  Today I'm showcasing the Stampin' Spritzer. It's a great tool because you can use it with any color.  All you need is a few drops of ink and some rubbing alcohol.  I chose Rose Red for my spritzer and Whisper White and Basic Gray for my card base and layers.  The spritzed color can be lighter or darker depending on how many drops you choose to use.

I wanted some subtle butterflies in the background so I lightly taped the small ones from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to the Whisper White and then spritzed all over it.  Easy peasy!  I attached the large Basic Gray butterfly with a glue dot, added some Basic Jewels Rhinestones, the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and voila!  Card done!

FMS 76

Finally got back to some sneaky stampin' this morning.  It's been a rough couple months around here.  I'm trying to get used to the fact that my 3 year old is no longer napping :(  So rather than getting caught up on paperwork while he was at school this morning, I decided it was time to get back to what I enjoy most...Sneaky Stampin'!

I was so excited to get the Silver Glimmer paper in my order last week, I just couldn't wait to use it!  Whenever I've been away from stamping too long, I look for a sketch challenge to get me motivated and to get some mojo back.  Thank goodness I found this simple sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I had been scouring Pinterest for some ways to incorporate the Silver Glimmer Paper and decided upon some cupcakes.  Here they are:

Thanks for looking!

In the Nick of Time

It has been forever since I've looked at a challenge.  In fact it's been forever since I stamped for my own pleasure!  Life, kids, blah blah blah....it's all getting in the way.

But I was back at it this afternoon and found The Friday Mashup was all about birthdays and brads.  Here was the challenge:

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:

  1. Make a project with a "Birthday Theme".
  2. Or Make a project using "Brads".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Birthday project with some brads".

Then, much to my surprise I found a simple sketch at Mojo Monday:

And just like that, I had my card:

Whew...and just in the nick of time....Friday Mashup closes at 6!!
